Pater Dairy, Inc.

Pipestone, Minnesota
Randall and Priscilla Pater

Randy and Priscilla Pater started their dairy farm in 1988 with only 16 cows. After many improvements in their operation, they have achieved efficiency and the ability to handle more cows. In 2007, the Pater’s expanded their dairy farm to 700 cows along with the addition of a new facility including 528 free stalls with a double 12 parallel milking center plus commodity shed, feed pads and manure handling facilities.

The SBA 504 loan Randall and Priscilla obtained assisted in the creation of the new dairy facility that includes a free stall barn and dairy parlor equipment.

The project has stimulated business growth in the rural community, added value to agricultural products grown in Southwest Minnesota, created and retained twelve jobs and increased the local tax base.
